Allergy/Asthma Information Association offers Nestlé subsidized memberships

What is the Allergy/Asthma Information Association thinking of? Great savings compliments of Nestlé's Good Start? "Special offer for Good Start participants gives new subscribers to the AAIA 50 per cent off the membership fee and a $4.00 donation from Nestlé Canada to research on asthma and allergy."

Are they so ignorant that they don't know that formula feeding is a major cause of both asthma and allergy in children? In Battlefords, Saskatchewan the pediatric admissions for allergy during a 6 month audit (Oct 1, 1999 to March 31, 2000) for artificially fed infants was 11.9 per cent, for breastfed infants 0 per cent.

According to Mr. Ray Rouse, Executive Director of AAIA, "Nestlé Canada completely supports breastfeeding and our present policy is to retain the partnership with Nestlé". He declined to state how much money his organization receives from Nestlé.

Let Mr. Ray Rouse know what you think of his Good Start offer:
