Dr. Wah Wong will long be remembered for his many contributions

It is with great sadness that we report the passage of Dr. Wah Wong, on July 7, 2001.

Dr. Wong worked for the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) for over thirty years in New York and Southeast Asia and for the past twelve years with the breastfeeding movement across Canada.

Dr. Wong will be greatly missed by all who have known him and have worked with him in the important work of breastfeeding promotion, protection and support. His contributions during a lifetime commitment to the well-being of mothers and children will always remain an important part of the re-establishment of breastfeeding both globally and in Canada. I personally have had the privilege of sharing podiums and events with him over the years and of knowing him as a very empowering member of INFACT Canada. He always sent us at the INFACT office beautiful notes of encouragement and empowerment that strengthened us in our often difficult work.

The breastfeeding community everywhere will miss him immensely.

We wish his family strength in this difficult time of loss.
